I was thinking if the Mcintosh mc501 monoblock amplifier would match these speakers so here are the specs:

McIntosh MC501 monoblock power amplifier Specifications
Sidebar 1: Specifications

THD: 0.005% into 8, 4, or 2 ohms, 250mW to rated power output. IMD: 0.005% maximum if instantaneous peak output does not exceed twice the rated output for any combination of frequencies, 20Hz-20kHz, into 8, 4, or 2 ohms. Dynamic headroom: 1.8dB. Wideband damping factor: 100 at 8 ohms (equivalent to a source impedance of 0.08 ohms) Frequency responses: 20Hz-20kHz, +0/-0.25dB; 10Hz-100kHz, +0/-3dB. Sensitivity: 2.1V unbalanced input, 4.2V balanced input. Signal/noise ratio: 97dB, A-weighted (124dB below rated output), unbalanced and balanced. Input impedance: 10k ohms unbalanced, 20k ohms balanced.
Dimensions: 17.5″ W by 9.5″ H (including feet) by 14 7/8″ D (including front-panel knobs). Weight: 91.5 lbs (41.6kg) net, 105.5 lbs (48kg) Heres the link: http://www.stereophile.com/solidpoweramps/804mcintosh/index.html

I want mcintosh monoblocks only either the mcintosh mc501 monoblocks, mcintosh mc601 monoblocks or the mcintosh mc1000 monoblocks so anyone out there would tell me between these 3 models is best let me know ok.

Best amplifier for sound quality for subwoofer(s)?

Posted by admin in Saturday, August 6th 2011
Topics: Car Audio
Xbox ThreeSixty asked:

I know that the type of subwoofer and the enclosure it is in as well as the environment it is in will determine the output level and the sound quality. But on top of those factors, is what type of amplifier would best for the purpose of sound quality?
Digital, AB, or Mono-Block.
I know that mono-blocks are used for their high rated power output and sometimes SQ.
One of the key factors I’m looking for too is minimal distortion.

Out of those class of amplifiers, which of the following companies below, are known for their sound quality?
Alphasonik
U.S. Amps
Audison
Boston Acoustics
Cadence (Not commonly known, but their stuff is amazing)
JL Audio
Cerwin Vega
Diamond Audio
DLS
Focal
American Bass
Image Dynamics
Rockford Fosgate
MB Quart
McIntosh
Orion
Soundstream
Sundown Audio
Zapco
and
DC Sound Labs
