Guitar amplifiers, solid state transistor or vacuum tube?

i have 200 GBP £ to spend - i want a used amp

a relative is getting rid of the sound city and ive seen the flextones on ebay for under 200…

which one should i get - what should i be aware of?

You should get a transister. Tubes, though considered the best form of amplifier, are really expensive, and high maintenance. The Line 6 brand is really good.

the tube is vintage, my freinds who are in the music industry swears that the tubes will always sound better. Down side is that parts will be very hard to find and very few knows how to fix them.
