If you have swapped the speakers, try to swap the wiring at the stereo to eliminate a problem with one of the wires. If the problem stays to one side, then you probably have a dead amplifier channel and will need to get it repaired. Most repair shops have a small fee to get an estimate, so worth checking out.

Testing both speakers, each one separately, and finding that they do work clears the speakers of any fault, so the problem does lie in the JVC stereo.

First, check your connections. Make sure that they are made properly without any stray wires causing a short and so on. Also make sure they are connected to the proper amplifier outputs.

You could also try a different set of speaker cables, just in case.

Also double-check your settings to be sure they are proper.

If everything is in order yet there is still a problem, the amplifier may require service.
