I have a 1963 HH Scott stereo vacuum tube amplifier. Where the speaker wire connects to the amp, there are two posts per channel labeled “O” and “H”. I have figured out the “H” is for the positive post (which by default leaves the “O” to be ground or negative), but what exactly do these letters stand for? I found the original owner’s manual online, but it only instructs you to “connect the speaker to the “O” and “H” posts on the amplifier”- no mention of what they stand for.

If H is “hot” then I can’t explain O.
If O is “out” then I can’t expain H.
I’m stumped, and I spent some time on the webby looking for an answer too. I’ve been messing with this stuff since 1967 and have never seen those designations for positive and negative.
