Yup! I have a pair of vintage Cornies and MKIII’s. Nothing else in the world sounds like them. I had some people over and one guy says “I have been hearing that song for 30 years and never knew those musical notes were there…simply amazing…”

I had a p-5, traded on a p-7 and psu, that- (power supply unit) makes the sound transform get one for your p-3 of you can I have a p7 fitted with thier best mm cart, definative technology bipoar towers and a sm. pair boston acoustics I pref. for jazz (silk vs aluminum tweets-which ‘rock harder’) but cant seem to talk myself in to a high end amp-.I have auditioned a lot of euip. and i see a bigger diff. with tables and speaks than amps but Id love a nice tube amp so much plus/minu to ‘em

Very nice! I grew up with my Dads Klipsch Chorus IIs and a friend of the family had the Cornwalls and a 18″ hartley Subwoofer. I also make my own music, My artist name is Gaijin Gnomon and I have an album called Dissonance. I also have a home theater biz and have been making speakers for more than half my life. I guess making music and listining to it goes hand in hand! Beautiful system, Cheers!

I apologize for the grammatical errors…I’ve had a few. I’m usually the grammar police.

A Scout has been on my list for about a year now. I have over 5000 cds and I want to do them justice. I just bought some Dynaudio monitors for my music studio so I’ll have to wait a bit before I make any more purchases. Besised I don’t think a $1000-1400 is very much to spend on a cd player if I have this many cds.

Don’t spend lots of money on digital, focus on the analogue side of your system. If you’re happy with your amp and pre, consider upgrading your Rega. The planar 3 is a great TT, but buy a used VPI scout and keep the Dynavector, it’s a great cart. There’s never been a better time to invest in a top notch analoge front end. Or, buy lots of music. That’s never a bad idea.

I’ve had a PrimaLuna Prologue Three preamp in the mix for a while. A new cd player is in the works. I’m on the fence right now…either a Cambridge 840C, Rega Apollo/Saturn or splurge for the PrimaLuna Prologue Eight. I like the sound of SET but I’m a push-pull guy. Thanks for the kudos.

Very, very respectable system…

Toss the Counterpoint and get an Audible Illusions 3A, get your Cornwalls a new set of X-overs from ALK and some single ended triodes.

For digital, get a cheap used Sony SCD-333ES.

I bet your system sounds GREAT, no lie.

I wouldnt say a dyeing breed..Im 21 and have a Klipsch ref.system and SACD. Its not a high end 2ch system like this, but in the future I plan to build one. For now my Denon 7.1 will do. And cool music! Wish youtube could have good sound quality!

Nice set-up. I also have a Cleby restored Dynaco amp (an ST70). Fine artwork that guy does and they sound as good as they look.
