How long do you have to wait (hours?) before it’s safe to change tubes?

wow how about u forgot to mention that you must wait after playing even if you unplug the amp because tube amps can store enough electricity to kill you

i was mistaken, it was a 12AT7 then i went to music shop and they gave me a 12AX7 wich made it more tone full, more gain, less muddy. and just better in soo many ways

a JJ tube should do the trick, i just put one in my marshall valvestate and it helps the sound. especially if you’re looking to make your tone slightly darker

hello there, im ascing you this becous it seemes you know a tad bit about tubes, i ahev a randall RH150G3 head with one single 12ax7 tube in the preeamp but the gain is kinda crapping up on me, do you know of a good tube for high gain?

maybe it would be wise to warn people to watch out on how the preamp tubes are oriented and write down the pinout..

also, the title - pullin pre-amp??? I bet some poor guy will actually pull his preamp out…

PLEASE Expertvillage, why can’t you complete the lesson in ONE single video?. It’s so damn confusing to find the right video.

Not entirely true though. Many modern high gain amps also have rectifier tubes.
