you can narrow it down to if its your guitar or amp by leaving the cable plugged into your amp and unplugging it from your guitar and touching your finger to the end of it.. if the amp makes a sound its your guitar… make sure your volume nob on your guitar is turned up and the same for you amp.. and make sure that none of your nobs are turned all the way down on your amp… and it may be your cable.. try using a different one if nothing else fixes it..
